Land & Sea Brewing Co. is a small locally owned in-house brewing company located in the heart of the Comox Valley. Opened in December of 2018, owners Hanna & Jason Walker envisioned a welcoming space for the community to gather, sip fresh delicious craft beer and share a tasty bite with family and friends. When Hanna & brewmaster Tessa Gabiniewicz reached out to me to help with the branding, they knew they wanted to stay away from the traditional masculine feel craft breweries have and go with a more mid-century modern, slightly feminine feel. I chose the blue heron, aptly for its ‘land’ and ‘sea’ lifestyle, and injected a bit of humour and whimsy into the design with a mug of fresh beer and flowy locks.
