Land & Sea Brewing Co. is a locally owned, small-batch brewery located in the heart of the Comox Valley. Founded in 2018 by Hanna and Jason Walker, the brewery was envisioned as a welcoming space for the community to come together, enjoy fresh, delicious craft beer, and share a bite with family and friends.
When Hanna and brewmaster Tessa Gabiniewicz approached me for branding assistance, they wanted to break away from the typical masculine aesthetic often associated with craft breweries. Instead, they envisioned a more mid-century modern, slightly feminine feel. I chose the blue heron as a symbol, representing the harmonious balance of ‘land’ and ‘sea’ that the brewery embodies. To infuse a sense of lightheartedness, I added a touch of whimsy with a mug of fresh beer and flowing locks, reflecting the fun and approachable spirit of Land & Sea Brewing Co.
